Laurie Foston compares Jordin Sparks to Patsy Cline

The first time I heard Patsy Cline, I noticed the same thing that I noticed in Jordin Sparks. Her voice had no limitations. It could start out in a contralto and then swing up and hit a soprano note without cracking. With the voice limitations on the other singers, the songs that they produce will be limited.

This same thing was true about Elvis and many other idols too. They could all sing so many different genres.

This is a talent that is distinctly showing up in Jordin's singing which is not showing up in the other contestants. I hate to have to say I told you so, but...I will probably be saying I told you so to everyone. The girl has superior talent! Then, another thing in her favor is her flexible style. For example, the others are rooted in a style that implies that they are already molded into what they will become. Jordin is still in the molding stage in style yet her charisma is unchangeable. That, my friend, is a winning combination.

Jordin Sparks is the winner of my choice

I have really gotten excited these days over American Idol and especially Jordin Sparks. I like Blake too, but as for a true American Idol, Jordin fits the bill all the way. If I were to hear Blake on the radio, I would not be impressed, but I get chills when I hear Jordin sing certain songs. To be so young, she's got lungs on her. My predictions are for Jordin and Blake to face off in the end. I am not convinced that Melinda Doolittle is really shy and that is why she hasn't made it to the top so far. She's still acting like she's bashful about singing. If she didn't know that she could sing well, how did she ever get to be a back up singer? Then Lakisha is just someone to listen to but not to have to look at. We want a Diva! Sanjaya is too bashful to move along with anything except the comfort songs. I can't stand to listen to him sing. He tries to sound like a baby. Chris would do better if he sang threw his thriat instead of his nose. Phil has zero charisma. So, what's left? Blake and Jordin. I'm betting on her.
